Creating the various spreads while staying within the bounds of my visual system.

After deciding on my topic for the booklet, I began making the spread grid system and experimented with various layouts. While doing this, I also searched through archival photos for each artist to input while sketching. This booklet helped to sharpen my layout designs and gave me exposure to different types of layout styles. After I sketched grid apparent, non-grid apparent, and experimentally styled spreads for each artist's section I found it much easier to freely ideate and create visually interesting spreads.
